It’s been a cool last couple days downloading and trying out razor-qt, awesome, cinnamon, and mate alongside XFCE and of course Gnome.
using the Arch Linux AUR was a lot easier than I expected thanks to yaourt
Awesome would be pretty cool if I wanted to do some coding; but I’d have to learn how to add applications to the menu and I just wasn’t up to it yet.
Forcing MATE to install meant breaking GNOME and CInnamon when I removed it; no big deal I just reinstalled both from my cache :)
When the dust settled I removed everything leaving only fresh installs of Gnome, CInnamon and reinstalled XFCE in case I broke anything there. Cleared the pacman cache and no have a lean system again.
I think I’m really starting to get a hang of this linux thing.
